Delightfully insightful. This class made pitching feel accessible. I fell in love with my book again, and I walked away with a succinct list of ideas for my pitch.
~Pitch Series Grad
The 2026 series is grounded in our tried and true methodology, but with fresh ideas made possible by (you guessed it!) endless pitching out there in the world. While we both landed agents by honing our pitches with this method, what we’ve discovered is just how fundamental a good pitch is to the entire creative process. From getting us unstuck, to transforming garbage drafts, to cultivating excitement in others—a solid pitch is a powerful tool. We’ve continued to level up our pitching and we know you can too!
Pitch Language 101 is all about falling back in love with your book! We will meet virtually on Tuesday, March 31, 7:00-9:00 PM CST*. If you can’t make it in real time, please consider the recording-only version of the class.
Join us for this uplifting two-hour session to help you reimagine your work in the words of a pitch (for queries, contests, applications and beyond) and to reconnect with what is beautiful and beloved in your book.
Early bird sale ends March 10.
We believe…
Your work is worthy of pitching, and your book deserves the best pitch
Finding the right language helps you reconnect to character and the hook of your story
We learn so much when we seek that sweet spot where practicality dances with emotion
Writing your pitch should be about falling back in love with your book
More praise for the Pitch Language series:
I love that the activities got me thinking about the book from a totally different angle. Instead of trying to break down the locked front door, I shimmied through an open window. It was exhilarating, and it renewed my excitement for work.
In Pitch Language 101 we will…
Affirm our anxiety around pitching and find good humor in community
Brainstorm beautiful pitches that bring us back to what we love best about our books
Engage in discussion re: our findings and revelations
Ask questions // Share resources
Find hope in the world of querying and submitting
This class is for you if you…
Are looking to query your work soon or submit to residencies, conferences, or contests
Have been querying your work and are looking to punch up your existing pitches
Have never queried anything ever but are intrigued
Are actively querying and waiting for responses/enduring the inevitable rejections
Are willing to hope and dream anew re: your work
Are drafting or revising and want to focus in on what’s most important and electric about your story

Get to know our special guest artist…
Megan Clark is a romance writer and voracious romance reader who gets far too big of a thrill from writing a fantastic pitch. She’s been a content marketer and a journalist, but she’s happiest when she’s plotting how to torture her own characters. She’s a hiker, knitter, and, above all, believer in writing as a hopeful act. She’s represented by Deidre Knight at The Knight Agency.
*Pitch 101 is capped at 20 registrants and is nonrefundable.
Cancellation policy: Pitch 101 requires five registered writers to move forward. If the class is in danger not going forward, we will notify registrants as soon as possible.
